WWD Steropodon

Steropodon Galmani (meaning "lightning tooth") is a genus of egg-laying mammal (monotreme) that lived in the forests of Australia during the late Cretaceous period, 150 million years ago. It is one of the oldest monotremes discovered and an ancient ancestor of the platypus. Steropodon was able to swim in rivers and ponds, so it can get away from predators like the first surviving giant amphibian, Koolasuchus.

In The Media[]

Steropodon appeared in the fifth episode of the documentary, Walking With Dinosaurs. It was live acted by a coati (a short word for coatimundi).
