Abadzekhia[]

Abadzekhia (perch-like fish) is an extinct genus of snake mackerel that lived from the early to late Oligocene epoch in what is now the Caucasus Mountains of Southern Russia. It is a carnivore. This genus consists of the species Marinae and Tarletskovi.

The differences of the two species[]

The differences between the Marinae; discovered in 2005, and Tarletskovi; discovered in 1985, is that the Marinae has a smaller number of rays in the soft dorsal and anal fins then the Tarletskovi. The Marinae also has a larger number of accesssory fins.

One fossil can be found at Oligocene of Georgia, one at Oligocene of Germany, and one at the Oligocene of Russian Confederation.
